Drawing

Week 1

As the very first class of the semester it started with a small introduction. Then we were introduced to the basic principles of design and elements of art the way how we perceive things and observe them.

Then we were shown a film on Vincent’s painting. It was a very beautiful film as it had all sorts of colours and variations then we were asked to draw circles and lines freehanded on newspaper skeet’s. It’s was done so that we realise that we need our whole hand to bring out the best possible shape of a circle and straight lines and how important it’s to draw or sketch.

Week 2

We were introduced to human anatomy through the different ways. Then we started with live sketching which we had to complete in the given time and the time kept on decreasing with every sketch random people from the class were called to pose so that the others could sketch.

In the next half we had to sketch in 30 seconds which was shown us and again the time kept on decreasing to 5 seconds. And we were asked to click 10 pictures of landscape 5 with day light and 5 with night light for the next class.

Week 3(absent)

As we were supposed to click 10 pictures which we brought now we had to sketch them and we started doing, it was done so that we get to know about the different shades and we could practice them with proper shading.

Week 4

The class started by showing the previous drawings we did and then we were told about linear drawings. Linear drawing basically means an image that consists of distinct straight or curved lines placed against a background, without gradations in shade or hue to represent two-dimensional or three-dimensional objects. We then started it with making a hand first without a boarder and then with boarder. Then we were asked to make objects with the same technique.
